Guatemala 2011 mission trip update

We are counting the weeks --- only nine more --- until we leave for Guatemala. The 2011 team consists of fifteen people --- eight men, five women and two pre-teen girls. Five are first-time mission trippers. It's always exciting to take first-timers with us. Almost every first-timer has become a repeat volunteer.

It is a joy to reunite with long time friends and to make new ones each year. This picture is of Kathy and young friend, Maria. We have had contact with her and her family for eight years. She brings smiles to everyone she meets.

If you would like to donate money or supplies for our trip, we would be more than happy to accept either/both. Checks should be payable to Laotto Wesleyan Church and mailed to our address in Fort Wayne. Supplies we still need: New or like-new shoes and sandals (size 9 or smaller, low or no-heel), fingernail clippers, combs, travel size toothpaste, toothbrushes.

We appreciate all of the help and support we have received over the years and we wouldn't want to go without our friends and family praying for us.

Keri,
This is our 11th trip. Our first three trips were for 3 weeks each. Our subsequent trips have been 8-10 days each. Do you get the idea we love working there?

Thanks for praying!

I think it's awesome! The relationships you're building and the fellowship you have with your friends there are PRICELESS!!! Have you read "Helping Without Hurting"? I had the privilege of hearing one of the authors speak at a conference this month and reading your post today, I realize you keep going back to work with and serve the same people, you are living out Jesus' command to us all. Your blessings are many...and so many more to come here and in Heaven!! What amazing examples of the Gospel you and Phil are! I'm honored to know you.
